Total column ozone during March for the last three years. The darker colors show where ozone concentrations are highest and the lighter colors are where concentrations are lower. A comparison between these three years demonstrates how much more ozone was present in the spring of 2024. In fact, March 2024 experienced some of the stratospheric highest ozone levels since the late 1970s. The grey shading indicates regions where there is no data recorded due to lack of sunlight.
